We know the coconut is basically an 'it' fruit at the moment mainly because of its oil which is very common and popular among most of us. The coconut oil is a multi-purpose oil that can be used on the hair, skin and even for cooking.
But another content of the coconut fruit that a lot of people over look is the coconut water. Shout out to my friend Stella for inspiring this post, I'll tell you a short story of how this post was inspired. Stella bought a bunch of coconuts that she was going to make her virgin cold pressed coconut oil from, as she broke the coconuts, I noticed she was pouring the coconut water away and when I asked her why, she said she was told that drinking coconut water “dulls the brain”. I laughed out so loud at how ridiculous that sounded and went ahead and explained to her some beauty benefits of drinking coconut water. Well, to cut the long story short, we sipped away on coconut water and thus, this post was born.
Coconut water is the liquid gotten from inside the coconut. It is a natural source of essential minerals, vitamins and electrolytes like sodium and potassium. . A lot of celebrities like Rihanna, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen and so on credit coconut water for their glowing skin. It has some health benefits in addition to its beauty benefits but for this post, we will be looking solely at some of its beauty benefits.
Coconut water for a younger and fresh skin: Those anti-ageing products not really working for you? Regularly drinking coconut water helps slow down the ageing process and makes your skin to look younger and fresh by getting rid of the harmful toxins. Coconut water is considered a good source of anti-oxidants, which means it helps remove the harmful free radicals that are produced by the body and contribute to skin aging.
Can be used as a natural cleanser and toner: Cleaning the face with coconut water helps get rid of the dirt and impurities accumulated from the environment, it also helps in regulating the pH of the skin and keeps it well hydrated without excess oil.
Can be used to reduce acne and dandruff: Coconut water has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, so regularly applying it to your scalp can help in the prevention and treatment of issues like dandruff and applying it to the face also helps with reducing the appearance of acne and blemishes on the skin.
Fights dehydration and dry skin: Coconut water is the purest liquid on earth after water, it acts as a light moisturizer for the skin. There is no question about the fact that when your body is nice and hydrated, your skin automatically looks better, using a cotton ball soaked with coconut water to apply all over your face instantly freshens up dull looking skin.
